Node Software Engineer | Sydney | Node, Nest.js, Docker, AWS

One of our top clients in Sydney are looking for an awesome engineer to join their team at an exciting period of growth. We’re looking for a back-end Node Engineer, ideally coming from a fast-paced environment & already having Nest.js experience.

Node Software Engineer Responsibilities

• Work closely with the engineering team to create, launch, and refine new features.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems to enhance functionality and user experience.
• Take ownership of the services and code you develop, ensuring their long-term stability.
• Optimize and manage relational databases for performance and scalability.
• Implement and manage automated testing strategies to ensure software reliability.

Node Software Engineer Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in backend software development with Node.js, ideally having Nest.js already
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and good coding practices & principles, including continuous delivery, automated testing & more.
• Familiarity with modern infrastructure, tooling, and Linux environments.
• Preferred experience with Docker, Postman, GitLab, and AWS.
• Experience in designing and building scalable, distributed systems.
• Previous experience in startup or scale-up environments is advantageous.
