A great opportunity exists for a talented Mid Senior UX/ UI Experience Designer to join a leading retailer on an initial 6 month contract.. This is a full-time Hybrid based role with around 2 days a week in the office. The Headoffice is based in the Melbourne CBD, so offers you the chance to live and work from home.
Whilst the role is initially 6 months, it does offer the right person the opportunity for extensions and/ or permanent. This is a small & close knit team, but is looking for the right people to help grow and develop the team.
Initially the role is looking for the designer to work on a raft of ecommerce solutions, so a knowledge and passion for this space is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end UX & UI design across the product development lifecycle with your product development team
- Partner closely with technology, product, and business to find delightful and accessible solutions to problems
- Engage with and observe customers and front-line staff to understand underlying pain points our customers face (in partnership with our analytics, data and insights specialists), and use these insights to guide design decisions
- Generate ideas turning them into multiple concepts, user flows, journey maps, sketches, wireframes and prototypes to test, inspire and communicate
- Advocate for the customer, ensure the customer has a voice in all conversations
Role Specific Skills
- Experience in a systems thinking role, specifically working within an eCommerce design role
- Comfortable with changing priorities within fast-paced, retail environments
- Proven experience in human centred design methodologies around customer research, problem solving, and design thinking
- Proven experience in creating polished visual interface designs that align with brand guidelines / a design system and UX best practice
- Experience with Figma, Miro, Google Analytics and other relevant design, prototyping and research tools
- Confident and proficient at communicating UX and design principles to a wide range of stakeholders
- Excellent teamwork skills with a high level of emotional intelligence and resilience
- Skills in creating deliverables for a compelling end-to-end experience
- Knowledgable on best practice for web UI and interaction design
