CALLING ALL GLOBAL SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEERS WITH AI/ML & VOICE AI EXPERIENCE

About Sophiie AI

Sophiie AI is transforming how service-based businesses operate. We’re building an AI Office Manager that takes care of the work no one has time for! From answering calls and booking jobs to quoting, scheduling, and invoicing.

In under 12 months, we’ve gone from $0 to 7-figure ARR, backed by some of Australia’s top early-stage VCs and already trusted by hundreds of businesses. We’re scaling fast, handling thousands of calls and interactions every week, and building the category-defining AI platform for the services sector.

With real customers, real revenue, and a product solving real problems, this is your chance to join a rocket ship right as it’s taking off.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us push the boundaries of applied artificial intelligence in real-world, customer-facing products.

You’ll work on systems that power intelligent conversations, context-aware automation, and lightning-fast decision-making. Some of this involves voice, some text, and some pure machine learning magic, but all of it must be production-ready, scalable, and delightful to use.

This isn’t a research lab role; it’s about shipping robust, high-performance systems that directly power thousands of real-world interactions every day. You’ll have huge ownership, move fast, and see your work have an immediate impact on a rapidly growing customer base.

About You

  • 5–8 years of experience as a software engineer, with significant exposure to AI/ML systems in production
  • Strong Python skills, including async/await, error handling, and writing maintainable, production-grade code
  • Experience with cloud-native deployment (Docker, AWS) and data infrastructure (SQL/NoSQL, Redis)
  • Comfortable optimising for performance, cost, and reliability in high-traffic environments
  • Experience with real-time communication tools like LiveKit, WebRTC, or SIP telephony

Bonus Points:

  • Background in speech technologies, STT/TTS, VAD, audio preprocessing (noise cancellation, echo reduction)
  • Familiarity with conversational AI frameworks or orchestration protocols (e.g., MCP)

Responsibilities

  • Build and improve AI pipelines for text, voice, and multimodal interactions
  • Develop robust, low-latency inference workflows and integrate them with our product stack
  • Design intelligent context management systems to make our AI smarter and more personalised
  • Work with the product to create conversational and automation flows that feel intuitive and helpful
  • Monitor, measure, and continuously improve performance across our AI stack
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and mentor other engineers in AI/ML best practices

What We Look For

  • You’re a self-starter who thrives on ownership and impact
  • You write clean, well-structured, well-documented code
  • You think about the end-user experience in everything you build
  • You can balance speed with quality, shipping fast without compromising reliability
  • You’re curious, pragmatic, and always eager to learn

What We Offer

  • Join a rocket ship going from $0 to a 7-figure ARR in under a year, and still accelerating
  • A product customers love and a team passionate about building it
  • Fast-moving startup culture with flexibility and autonomy
  • Equity options - real ownership in a fast-growing company
  • A clear mission and the resources to deliver on it
  • Regular team catch-ups, off-sites, and a culture of learning and growth
