Senior AWS DevOps Engineer - Contract role

Location: Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid – 3 days on-site, 2 days remote per week)

Contract: 6-Month Rolling Contract (Long-Term Opportunity)

Rate: Competitive Daily Rate

Stelfox is hiring a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer on behalf of one of our leading clients based in Dublin. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud-native infrastructure that powers the next generation of digital applications.

You’ll play a key role in designing and automating secure, scalable, and resilient AWS environments, collaborating closely with engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver best-in-class cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure for mission-critical applications.
• Champion DevSecOps practices by embedding security into the platform lifecycle.
• Collaborate with SREs, developers, and security teams to drive platform reliability and performance.
• Automate deployment, observability, and compliance processes using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Stay ahead of emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years in software/platform/SRE roles, with 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience.
• Deep understanding of AWS networking, IAM, governance, and cloud security.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (EKS/Kubernetes).
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD automation.
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Go, or Shell).
• Familiarity with GitOps workflows and monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, etc.).
• Prior experience in regulated industries (e.g., financial services or fintech).
• Knowledge of zero-trust architecture, encryption, and KMS.
