Back End Developer

Retailogists sits at the intersection of business and technology in the retail industry. We provide end-to-end business and technology solutions while also building in-house products like Avia (https://www.retailogists.com/avia).

We are looking for a Backend Engineer with solid experience in GoLang or PHP (both would be ideal) to join our growing engineering team. You’ll be working on high-performance backend systems and APIs that power modern digital platforms.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Work with GoLang and/or PHP to develop server-side logic and optimize performance.
• Ensure system reliability, security, and scalability in high-traffic environments.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/deployment processes.

• 3+ years of backend development experience (GoLang or PHP is essential; both is a strong plus).
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs or GraphQL services.
• Familiarity with both relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience working with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with scalable cloud-native architecture
• Exposure to real-time systems, WebSockets, or event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and scaling high-traffic applications.
• Must be based in Canada (East Coast preferred, but open to candidates across Canada).
