A leading FinTech company is seeking an experienced backend engineer to join their team in downtown Vancouver. This company specializes in providing banks with embedded financial products and services, aiming to revolutionize the corporate banking experience.

To be considered you MUST have the following experience

  • Java and proficient with Java 17 and above
  • Relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB) databases
  • various forms of testing, including Unit, Integration, and Performance tests
  • integrating external APIs
  • distributed systems and microservices architecture
  • AWS


Position

We are looking for an experienced backend engineer to join our high-performance team. You’ll be responsible for designing and implementing solutions to complex problems and taking ownership of projects. You will be joining a team of engineers who are building accounting software integrations and plugins that are changing the definition of corporate banking applications.


Key Responsibilities

  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer, with 4+ years working with Java 17 and above.
  • 4+ years of experience with databases, including relational (Postgres) and non-relational (MongoDB).
  • Experience with Unit, Integration, and Performance testing.
  • Experience integrating external APIs efficiently.
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of modern cloud technologies like AWS.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Nice to have: experience with observability tools (Honeycomb, Datadog), startup experience, knowledge of frontend technologies (React/Javascript), and experience with bank integrations (SFTP or APIs).

Compensation

  • The hiring salary range for this position is $100,150 - $117,680 annually. The base pay is based on comparable market data. We believe in rewarding our employees for their contributions and offer a comprehensive total rewards package.
