Our client, Southern Communications Limited bring people and technology together since 1965. With Head Quarters in Basingstoke, Hampshire they encompass a variety of subsidiary businesses that all have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and as a group, they specialise in the delivery of services across the spectrum of communications technology.

Due to their continued growth, they are now looking for an experienced and robust Network Engineer to join their busy team. You will focus on providing an exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers in support of their network estates with a direct focus on firewalling and SDWan.

Network Engineer, the role:

• Supporting customers with complex firewalling solutions
• Mediating between customers, suppliers, resellers and internal teams
• Handling complex cases and taking ownership of issues
• Updating Southern Communications internal CRM to ensure all cases are accurately tracked

Network Engineer, the person:

• Previous experience within a similar role – firewalls knowledge is a must
• Networking certified (CCNA or similar)
• Great attention to detail coupled with a positive minded can-do attitude
• Ability to work on your own initiative is essential

Desirable:

• Certifications in either Cisco, Juniper or Palo alto
• MPLS and SDWAN
• Routing and Switching
• Web security and URL filtering
• Forcepoint or Checkpoint experience
• Unifi and similar wifi
• VMware, KVM and cloud solutions
