Our client is a Dublin-based management services company that delivers shared services to a global group of businesses covering IT infrastructure, systems and business applications, group financial reporting and oversight, investment and reinsurance accounting, due diligence, integration of newly acquired companies, and financial advisory & corporate governance consultancy. The Dublin office has around 65 people, and this relatively low headcount ensures the Company remains a supportive, collaborative, and social environment with vast opportunities to make an impact on its operating companies.
The parent company, headquartered in Toronto, Canada, is primarily engaged in insurance and reinsurance. The wider Group contains over 40 companies, employs over 15,000 personnel, and had a gross turnover of US$28.9 billion in 2023.
The Job:
The Company is looking for a PhD graduate with creativity, analytics mastery, and research experience. We work with the successful candidate to develop and integrate their academic experience with the commercial competencies essential to be successful in business by building on the analytical skills developed during a PhD. Successful applicants are partnered with a senior mentor who has completed a post-doctoral program and will provide support, develop required skills, and shape their professional development.
As candidates integrate into the Group, they will continue to learn from leading experts. Subsidiaries operate on a decentralized basis with empowered CEOs. The role of the Dublin office is to engage with subsidiary management teams and integrate newly acquired companies. Once candidates have settled and are confident within their role, they will see direct interaction with CEOs and C-Suite members of subsidiaries.
Duties & Responsibilities:

- Data Analytics – Advise in strategic transformation through the effective use of our data assets. You will be working on Data Strategies, Data Science, and Data Governance roles.
- Global Sustainability – Involved in leading a multi-pronged Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy. We enrich and shape ESG behavior by showcasing the corporate responsibility initiatives of group subsidiaries.
- Digital & Emerging Technology – Designing, developing, and implementing analytical solutions using various commercial opportunities. We build data platforms that collate data from disparate sources, enabling data scientists to derive the greatest insight.
- Strategic Partnering – Supporting clients in delivering their business needs by identifying problems, defining strategies, and project management. You will help solve challenges across a range of discipline areas and develop comprehensive strategies.
- Innovation – Creative thinking with a strong interest in executing new strategies to drive increasing value to customers. We help our clients understand the latest trends and the impact on their vision.
Required Education:
A PhD candidate who has mastered their own field and is interested in entering the commercial environment.
Essential Skills:
- Can produce creative solutions to complex problems using data-driven insights.
- Ability to research, digest information, and produce analysis on the content in terms of context, themes, and insights.
- Ability to display intricate data in a digestible manner for C-Suite executives.
- Ability to understand new systems and push the boundaries of the system.
- Robust understanding of data manipulation techniques and methods.
- Outstanding presentation skills to synthesize and communicate complex concepts and analyses in a coherent and comprehensive manner.
- Ability to work in a high-tempo environment, adapt, and respond to day-to-day challenges of the role.
Beneficial Skills:
- Strong quantitative skills, and experience with statistical methods.
- Experience with computational languages such as JavaScript or Python.
- Use of data visualization software (we use Power BI, but familiarity with other applications is beneficial).
- Ability to write external communications at a professional level.
- Comfortable with learning new technologies or applications.
