Fuel is a high-performance blockchain operating system that redefines what's possible on Ethereum. By combining unparalleled throughput with the core principles of decentralization and security, our platform simplifies the development process for builders worldwide.

The Fuel Virtual Machine, with its groundbreaking state minimization and parallel transaction execution capabilities, sets a new standard for Ethereum Rollups, overcoming existing limitations in protocol development.

Since our 2019 launch with Fuel V1, we've been focused on enhancing Ethereum's scalability. Our innovations, like the Fuel Virtual Machine and the Sway programming language, provide developers with a powerful, user-friendly environment.

We’re a passionate, intelligent, and empathetic globally dispersed team, united by a love for innovation and a commitment to shaping the future of blockchain technology—one groundbreaking solution at a time.

Who You Are

Qualifications

  • Strong background in quantitative analysis, algorithmic trading, or market microstructure
  • Comfort working close to code (Python, Rust, or similar), enough to prototype or review logic
  • Experience with DeFi protocols, centralised exchanges, or on-chain trading bots.
  • A hacker mindset; you think like an adversary to spot risks before they become problems
  • Curiosity, ownership, and a bias toward action

What You’ll Do

  • Leverage prior market making experience to run, tune, and improve automated trading strategies both on-chain and across centralized exchanges
  • Ensure consistent liquidity provision, real-time adaptation to market conditions, and reliable execution across multiple markets
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and research teams to design resilient trading bots and contribute to protocol-level market logic
  • Develop and refine operational workflows for monitoring, alerting, risk management, and daily trading routines
  • Identify and mitigate manipulative or adversarial behaviour in markets, protecting the exchange and ensuring fair trading conditions
  • Analyze system architecture and trading logic for vulnerabilities, providing input on risk controls and robust design
  • Respond to alerts, triage issues, and drive continuous improvements to system reliability
  • Train and mentor internal team members to build long-term in-house trading expertise

Requirements

  • 3+ years of direct experience in market making, quantitative trading, or liquidity provision (crypto experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of order book mechanics, market microstructure, and liquidity dynamics
  • Hands-on experience with automated trading systems, including parameter tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with both CeFi and DeFi trading environments and their unique operational considerations
  • Ability to design structured operational flows (shift rotations, runbooks, escalation paths, monitoring)
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work closely with engineers and product managers
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, early-stage environment where you will play a foundational role
