Job Description
Epigene Labs is looking for a Computational Biologist Intern for a 6-month end-of-studies internship, starting between January and June 2025.
You will work on a project to improve molecular data integration and processing, with the opportunity to develop new pipelines and explore innovative methodologies. This role offers a unique learning experience through close collaboration with computational biologists, data scientists, and data engineers, providing hands-on involvement in cutting-edge projects.
The idea of an internship at Epigene is to get a foot in the door of the company and to be able to focus on a specific subject during the months of internship with other members of the team. Many of our previous interns have gone on to join the team on permanent contracts.

Required
- Ability to implement and benchmark computational methods from the fields of biostatistics and bioinformatics
- Proficiency in Python programming for data analysis
- A team player with the ability to also work autonomously, and who has a lifelong learning mindset
- Outstanding interpersonal and English communication skills
- Experience with bulk and/or single-cell NGS data
- Experience with mining publicly available databases (GEO, TCGA, etc.)
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and microservices/container systems (Dockers)
- Master’s degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Data Management or related technical fields
- Working knowledge of healthcare, biopharma and/or oncology is a plus
- Initial fit call with the computational biology lead.
- Technical challenge based on real-world problems to assess collaboration skills
