Europe’s grid is under pressure. Millions of EVs want power at the same time. The only way forward is smarter charging, and that’s exactly what the Smart Charging team is building.

Started in 2020 with three founders and a borrowed office. Today we're at ~75 people (70% engineers) with €12.5m fresh funding to scale across Europe. The goal: move from scrappy scale-up to becoming the platform that keeps EVs charged and grids stable.

What that means in practice:

• Reverse-engineering car APIs because manufacturers don’t hand over the keys
• Running millions of events on an event-driven .NET 8 / Azure stack (Functions, Service Bus, Cosmos, MassTransit)
• Using AI + energy market data to shift charging sessions away from peak hours
• Making sure the car is always charged by departure — so drivers actually trust the system

This isn’t about neat features or backlog tickets. It’s high-scale, distributed systems work with real-world impact.
