🧠 Data Scientist
📍 Lisbon (Hybrid)
At wBrain, we are looking for a Data Scientist to join a strategic project based in Lisbon (hybrid model). This role will contribute to high-complexity analytical environments, with a strong focus on Machine Learning, GenAI, and data visualization, supporting the development of innovative and impactful solutions.
🧩 Responsibilities
- Develop advanced analytical models (e.g., combinatorial models, deep learning on structured and unstructured data).
- Implement solutions using code (R, Python) and/or leverage PaaS cloud services (preferably Azure).
- Utilize advanced analytics libraries such as TensorFlow, Keras, Caffe, and PyTorch.
- Build models or applications that integrate GenAI (e.g., LLMs or diffusion models), including:
- Text generation, summarization, contextual classification, image generation, autonomous agents, or intelligent copilots.
- Design robust pipelines that include preprocessing, fine-tuning of foundational models (e.g., LLaMA, Mistral, T5).
- Measure outcomes using specific metrics (BLEU, ROUGE, perplexity), and deploy in a controlled manner (via API).
- Ensure strong technical foundations and follow best practices in ML engineering for GenAI.
- Create interactive data visualization solutions to present complex outputs effectively.
🧠 Requirements
- Up to 10 years of experience in a similar role;
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar technical field;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Knowledge of the Energy & Utilities sector and GDPR (preferred);
- Experience working in collaborative and global teams;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to delivery excellence;
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases;
- Proven experience in delivering machine learning projects using Python, R, or SAS;
- Familiarity with the full model lifecycle (training, deployment, maintenance);
- Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow;
Nice to have:
- Experience developing analytics solutions that include AI;
- Experience building interactive data visualization solutions;
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence;
- Language proficiency: English (mandatory); Portuguese and Spanish (a plus).
