Job Description
IQNECT Senior Software Engineer (Back-end)
Overview
IQNOX builds and runs IQNECT, a SaaS platform that helps enterprises accelerate digital transformation by connecting people, process, and technology. We deliver outcomes through a disciplined, customer-centric delivery model and a continuous improvement mindset.
The Senior Software Engineer is an individual contributor focused exclusively on the IQNECT product lifecycle, and specifically on the back-end portion of the application stack. You will design, build, test, document, and support features that advance IQNECT. You work closely with the IQNECT Project Manager and Product Owner, contributing engineering leadership within a Scrum-based hybrid methodology.
Role Summary
You are a hands-on engineer who turns well-defined outcomes into working software. You collaborate with the Product Owner to understand requirements and with the IQNECT Project Manager to plan and deliver incrementally. You uphold quality through thoughtful design, automated testing, and production-ready code that flows smoothly through CI/CD.
What You Will Do
- Design and Build: Implement scalable, secure, and maintainable services and components for IQNECT using AWS Lambda and Go (Golang).
- Work the Backlog: Break down epics and stories into implementable tasks, provide estimates, call out dependencies, and keep work items current.
- Quality First: Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and uphold the Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
- Participate in Hybrid Agile: Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives. Provide data that keeps delivery plans realistic.
- Requirements Traceability: Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure stories have clear acceptance criteria and remain traceable from requirement to release.
- DevOps Flow: Keep pipelines healthy, improve build and deploy reliability, and contribute to observability so issues surface quickly.
- Security and Compliance: Build with privacy, security, and auditability in mind. Support documentation for controls such as SOC and ISO when needed.
- Supportability: Produce documentation that helps others operate, troubleshoot, and extend the software. Share knowledge through design notes and walkthroughs.
- Mentor and Elevate: Provide constructive feedback and guidance to engineers, helping the team grow in both craft and delivery discipline.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of professional experience building software products, preferably SaaS or enterprise platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Golang and practical experience building and deploying applications on AWS Lambda.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and event-driven architectures.
- Practical experience with automated testing frameworks and practices.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD and source control concepts, and experience using them in day-to-day development (preferably GitLab).
- Ability to decompose problems, estimate work, and communicate trade-offs clearly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, pragmatic approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience with serverless architectures beyond Lambda (e.g., API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions).
- Familiarity with front-end technologies and patterns for building product UIs.
- Experience operating software in production, including observability and incident response practices.
- Exposure to regulated or quality-managed environments (for example, medical-device, automotive, aerospace).
How We Work
- IQNOX has two offices, one in Bucharest, RO and one in Florida, USA. You will be attached to the Romanian office.
- Hybrid approach, using the office to sync up for key workshops, product team meetings, and offsites.
- An outcome-focused culture that values transparency, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Next Steps
IQNOX is an equal opportunity employer. Interested candidates should send a resume and brief cover letter to Cristian Năstase at [email protected]
