On behalf of our global client, we’re currently looking for a Golang Cloud-Native Developer

Role: Golang Cloud-Native Developer

Location: 2-3 days onsite weekly in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara

Start: ASAP

End: 12+ months contract

Capacity: 8h/day, 5 days/week

The Cloud-Native Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining production-grade software components that operate as part of a Kubernetes-based infrastructure platform. This role requires deep experience in Go development and a solid understanding of Kubernetes internals, extensibility, and operational best practices. Developers will work on cloud-native services, automation, observability, and infrastructure-related tooling, with opportunities to contribute to upstream open-source projects.

Key Activities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services and infrastructure tools using Golang
• Extend Kubernetes functionality through Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) and Operators
• Debug and troubleshoot Kubernetes components, workloads, and distributed systems
• Develop and maintain observability features (metrics, logging, health checks)
• Create and manage service monitors, metrics, and alerts using tools like Prometheus
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions)
• Support automation and configuration of services through infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g., Helm, Kustomize, Terraform)
• Maintain technical documentation and participate in code reviews and design discussions
• Engage in support and maintenance tasks (e.g., bug fixes, incident handling, ticket resolution)
• Contribute to Agile practices such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Golang proficiency: strong command of idiomatic Go, project structure, testing practices, and dependency management (3+ years experience)
• Kubernetes experience: hands-on experience managing and debugging Kubernetes resources, using kubectl, and deploying with Helm or Kustomize
• Cloud-native development: understanding of microservice design, distributed systems, and API-first development (REST and optionally GraphQL)
• Monitoring & Observability: familiarity with Prometheus, OpenSearch, and tools for exposing metrics and logs
• CI/CD and GitOps: experience with GitHub Actions, Makefiles, and automation of testing, linting, and deployments
• Version control & collaboration: confident in Git workflows, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative development
• API integration: comfortable working with REST APIs and documenting them
• Strong communication: proficient in English with the ability to collaborate effectively in distributed teams
