Senior PHP Developer

Contract - Senior Full-Stack PHP Engineer - Outside IR35 - Remote

• Day Rate: £450-£550 Outside IR35
• Location: Bristol/London HQ – Largely Remote
• Length: 6 Months Initial + Extensions

Our client is a FTSE100 Wealth Management firm with a leading UK investment platform serving millions of clients.

Join a cross-functional team developing and maintaining the online trading platform, mobile apps, and internal/external web systems. Work on projects ranging from small front-end updates to building APIs and large-scale systems. Emphasis on clean architecture, secure and scalable solutions, and collaboration in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain high-quality, secure, and performant code
• Collaborate to deliver new features and support existing systems
• Ensure reliability, maintainability, and security of applications
• Write automated tests and documentation
• Continuously learn and adopt modern technologies and best practices

Essential Skills:

• Proficient in PHP (LAMP stack), OOP, and web application design patterns
• Front-end skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Experience with PHP frameworks (Symfony) and templating engines (Smarty/Twig)
• RESTful API development, database design, and third-party API integration
• Knowledge of web security best practices and automated testing (PHPUnit, Playwright)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and scalable, database-driven applications
• Exposure to TypeScript & React; desirable: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
