Pension and Benefits Administrator
8 month contract (End date- June 2026)

Pension, Benefits: Changes Administration
Responsible for the processing and delivery of pension and benefit enrolment, change and termination forms for all employees to ensure accuracy of records and compliance with the company’s policies and benefits providers’ requirements through third party online administration systems.
Pension, Benefits: Communication
Proactively coordinates and conducts pension and benefits plan information and enrolment sessions for new employees as part of the company’s orientation program, at the time of hiring; advises employees in regards to their eligibility for company pension and benefits. Effectively addresses any pension and benefits related inquiries or concerns to ensure the company pension and benefits programs are well-understood across the organization.
Pension, Benefits: Provider Relationships
Effectively communicates with pension and benefits plan providers to ensure pension and benefits records are received and processed in a timely manner. Ensures all employee accounts are accurate, up to date and all investment opportunities available have been realized in accordance with the employees’ directions.
Pension, Benefits: Data Entry and Reporting
Performs data entry, audits and reports on the existing pension and benefit plans for Morguard and its current entities (incl. DC pension plan, RRSP plan, group benefits plan etc.) to ensure accuracy of records and compliance with the company’s policies and benefits providers’ requirements.
Pension: Legacy Plan Administration
Collaborates with Supervisor, Pension Benefits in the administration of legacy DB pension plans, including but not limited to: member searches, life audits, member terminations and changes, pension quotes, marriage breakdowns, processing and payment of invoices and term life insurance settlements, file/database maintenance.
Pension: Plan Administration
Prepares pension related documents for various plan members. Ensures accuracy of information and facilitates processing of plan terminations, deaths, deferrals in a timely fashion for all plans, including legacy plans. Responsible for the administration of current pension plans, including but not limited to: annual audit, annual statement distribution, year-end reporting.
Benefits: Leave Administration
Coordinates the support for all Personal Emergency, Sick, Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability leaves. Effectively coordinates all cases/claims to include general administration, comprehensive case management and program compliance with the company’s policies, service providers’ requirements and all related employment laws. Reconciles monthly attendance records and works closely with Payroll to ensure that pay is processed accurately.
Any other job related duties and/or projects that may be assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education
College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Payroll, Human Resources or Business Administration) or equivalent
Minimum 2 years relevant experience
Demonstrated experience with Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit and Group Health plans
Previous experience providing services to internal clients and other stakeholders
Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, Benefits Administration and HRIS platforms.

Additional Requirements
Working towards CEBS designation is an asset
