About The Role
Cybersecurity Specialist
The Cybersecurity & IT Operations Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting and strengthening the cybersecurity and IT operations function. This role will serve as the right hand to the Head of Cybersecurity & IT Operations — taking ownership of operational execution, technical oversight, compliance reporting, and vendor management. The Specialist will ensure smooth day-to-day running of IT operations and cybersecurity controls while actively contributing to process improvement and audit readiness.
Key responsibilities and skills:
Cybersecurity Operations
- Monitor and respond to security alerts across SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, and log management systems.
- Lead first-level triage for incidents, escalate as necessary, and maintain detailed incident reports.
- Perform routine vulnerability and patch management follow-ups with system owners and vendors.
- Support risk assessments, access reviews, and compliance checks for clinics, HQ, and SaaS platforms.
- Develop and update cybersecurity playbooks, awareness training, and phishing campaign reports.
IT Operations Management
- Oversee IT asset lifecycle management (hardware, software, licenses, endpoints).
- Manage onboarding/offboarding workflows, ensuring timely provisioning/de-provisioning and role-based access.
- Support IT service management: track tickets, analyze trends, and recommend process improvements.
- Liaise with vendors for IT support, cloud hosting, and managed services — track SLAs and escalate issues.
- Contribute to IT disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP) exercises.
Governance, Risk and Compliance
- Prepare documentation and evidence for ISO 27001, Cyber Trust Mark, and Health Information Bill audits.
- Maintain risk registers, policy libraries, and compliance dashboards.
- Perform periodic reviews of system access, IT general controls, and segregation of duties.
- Assist in vendor risk management: perform due diligence reviews, track assessments, and ensure compliance with contractual security clauses.
Administrative and Strategic Support
- Draft management reports and executive dashboards highlighting IT & cybersecurity KPIs.
- Support procurement by reviewing quotations, vendor assessments, and contract renewals.
- Coordinate cross-functional meetings, track action items, and ensure follow-through.
- Provide inputs to technology roadmaps, security strategy updates, and annual audit planning.
Applicant Considerations:
- Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in IT operations, cybersecurity operations, or IT governance.
- Solid understanding of ITIL processes, identity and access management, and basic networking/security principles.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 / Azure, SIEM/EDR solutions, and IT asset management.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, CSA Cyber Trust Mark, PDPA, or HIB guidelines).
- Strong project coordination, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and provide recommendations to leadership.
Key Competencies:
- Technical depth: Able to handle IT and cybersecurity tools with minimal supervision.
- Operational ownership: Takes initiative and drives closure of tasks without micromanagement.
- Analytical mindset: Ability to interpret data from logs, tickets, and reports into meaningful insights.
- Business acumen: Understands the balance between risk, operations, and user experience.
- Leadership potential: Capable of mentoring junior staff and growing into a managerial role.
