We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Project Manager with expertise in SPS within the drilling rig industry to join our team. In this role, you will oversee and manage SPS-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management of SPS projects for drilling rigs, from initiation to completion.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, monitoring progress to ensure all targets are met.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, procurement, and external vendors, to achieve project milestones.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and health and safety regulations during project execution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical and operational challenges, leveraging expertise in SPS and drilling rig systems.
- Prepare and deliver project reports, status updates, and presentations to stakeholders, maintaining transparency and open communication.
- Build and cultivate strong, inclusive team dynamics by fostering collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Identify risk factors; create and implement mitigation strategies to minimize scope, time, and budget impacts.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and project outcomes.
Key Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in Special Periodic Surveys (SPS) within the drilling rig or offshore/marine environment.
- Project Management: Minimum of 5+ years as an Assistant Project Manager, with a track record of successful project delivery in complex, technical environments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical/engineering discipline. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to lead high-pressure situations and resolve complex technical and operational issues.
- Cultural Competence: Commitment to fostering diversity, equality, inclusion, and belonging in team collaboration and leadership.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards, industry guidelines, and drilling equipment designs. Experience with project management tools and software is a plus.
Day-to-Day
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set daily priorities and monitor progress toward milestones.
- Conduct regular site visits or virtual check-ins to ensure project activities are on track and in compliance with standards.
- Review reports, troubleshoot emerging issues, and adjust timelines and resources as needed.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding project status and address any concerns promptly.
- Organize and lead team meetings to review objectives, share updates, and delegate tasks.
- Monitor budgets and expenses, identifying potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Mentor and guide team members to foster professional development and inclusive team dynamics.
