Job Description: Cloud Network Specialist
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Network Specialist to join our global support team. The ideal candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep expertise in cloud networking, routing & switching, and hyperscaler integrations. You will be responsible for resolving complex technical issues, leading incident calls, and ensuring seamless network operations across global infrastructures in a Follow-the-Sun support model.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and resolve tickets/incidents via ServiceNow platform.
- Act as a technical SME and lead critical incident calls.
- Troubleshoot and provide break-fix support for network and cloud-related issues.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and recommend preventive measures.
- Drive and implement process improvements, ensuring adherence to defined standards.
- Take shared ownership of SLA-driven incident resolution.
- Mentor and train junior team members as a technical guide/SME.
- Conduct testing, auditing, and capacity planning for on-prem and cloud components.
- Work in a global follow-the-sun support model, ensuring round-the-clock service continuity.
- Maintain and improve customer and employee satisfaction by delivering high-quality support.
Technology Expertise
- Strong expertise in Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, QoS, MPLS, WAN).
- Hands-on with AWS (Advanced Networking, Cloud Architect) and Azure network components.
- Experience with AWS native load balancers and hyperscaler integration with on-prem DCs.
- Knowledge of SD-WAN (Viptela – Vmanage, VSmart, VBond, VEdge).
- Switching technologies: Cisco/Arista (STP, HSRP, SVI, EtherChannel, Stackwise, VSS, Nexus).
- Wireless LAN – Cisco and Aruba.
- Cisco Meraki (MS and MX Series).
- F5 Virtual Load Balancers.
- Desirable: Private 5G (P5G).
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as a Network Engineer supporting global infrastructures.
- Proven experience in deploying/supporting virtual devices and cloud-hyperscaler network environments.
- Engineering-level hyperscaler accreditation (AWS/Azure).
- Cisco CCIE and other industry-recognized certifications.
- Strong expertise in LAN/WAN architectures and IP services.
- Expert-level skills in real-time troubleshooting, optimization, and documentation.
- Proficient in debugging with Wireshark and resolving complex routing issues.
- Hands-on with:
- Cisco ASR, ISR, Catalyst, and Nexus (9K/7K/5K/2K) series.
- Cisco SD-WAN solutions.
- F5 load balancers.
Soft Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
- Ability to lead high-pressure real-time incident calls involving customers and vendors.
- Strong customer-handling skills with a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver solutions effectively.
Certifications (Preferred/Required)
- CCIE (Mandatory).
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking / Solutions Architect.
- Microsoft Azure Certification (Networking/Solutions Architect).
- F5-CSE / F5-CTS.
- Cisco 300-415 ENSDWI (SD-WAN).
- ITIL v4 Foundation.
