Our client, a leading healthcare and technology services company in the video advertising space, is seeking a passionate Sr. Backend Engineer to help design, build, and optimize their high-performance ad delivery platform. The role is based in New York and offers the chance to work on systems that handle billions of daily requests across multiple devices, from PCs to OTT platforms and traditional TV.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable, low-latency backend systems
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS) with containerization (Kubernetes/Docker)
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
• Collaborate with product, operations, and global engineering teams to deliver high-impact solutions
• Troubleshoot and enhance existing systems while ensuring security and compliance
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices across the engineering team
• Document technical requirements, software designs, and architecture decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
• 3–5 years of backend engineering experience
• Strong skills in C++ or Golang, network programming, and distributed systems
• Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix, data structures, algorithms, and large-scale online services
• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS) and containerized environments
• Familiarity with caching, messaging queues, Nginx, and other middleware
• Experience with SDLC, Agile methodology, and mission-critical systems
• Advertising industry experience is a plus
