Network Admin (Full Time, Contract; 5x Onsite in Johns Creek, Georgia)

Optomi, in partnership with a major manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled Network Admin to help their team execute pre-configured deployments and support third-party onsite installations. This role is a hands-on, on-site position focused on network administration, escalation support, and deployment execution. The candidate will be involved in staging and shipping hardware, coordinating third-party installations, and troubleshooting network issues.

Experience of the right candidate:

  • 2–3 years of hands-on networking support experience, ideally in a NOC or Tier 2–3 escalation role.
  • Active CCNA certification with proven Cisco routing and switching expertise.
  • Experience configuring VLANs, deploying switches, and supporting WiFi setups.
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies, preferably VeloCloud.
  • Skilled at staging and shipping pre-configured hardware for remote or third-party installations.
  • Track record of guiding both technical and non-technical users through troubleshooting and installs.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to resolve escalated issues effectively.
  • Eager to learn new processes and technologies while adapting quickly to enterprise environments.
  • Exposure to Palo Alto firewalls with basic rule/allow/block configuration.
  • Experience with Unifi/Ubiquiti wireless access points.
  • Familiarity with staging and deploying network camera systems.


Responsibilities of the right candidate:

  • Stage, configure, and ship network hardware to support deployments across multiple sites and projects.
  • Support Cisco switch deployments, VLAN configuration, WiFi setup, and other networking projects.
  • Provide Tier 2–3 escalation support, troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues.
  • Guide remote staff and third-party vendors through installation and deployment processes.
  • Coordinate and track onsite installation work to ensure successful execution.
  • Collaborate closely with senior engineers and team members to balance operations with project delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with non-technical users, explaining technical issues clearly and patiently.
