Company Description

Founded in 1994, United Securities LLC is a leading Investment Management firm in Oman, specializing in Discretionary Portfolio Management, Fund Management, Corporate Finance solutions, Investment Research, and Brokerage services within the GCC region.


Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Portfolio Manager role based in Masqaţ, Oman. Responsibilities include managing investment portfolios, conducting financial research, analyzing market trends, making trading decisions, and providing strategic investment advice to clients. The Portfolio Manager will work closely with the investment team to develop and implement effective portfolio strategies to maximize client returns.


Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a significant capital allocation by creating, executing, and monitoring an alpha-driven investment strategy.
  • Bring a fundamentally driven investment process with a rigorous approach to portfolio construction and risk management.
  • Implement robust risk management, continuously assessing the merits of all positions and investment thesis.
  • Work closely with equity research analysts on security selection
  • Ensure strict compliance with all industry regulations and internal risk controls.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Finance, Economics, Business or related
  • Relevant Master's certification and/or other professional qualifications would be an added advantage
  • CFA Level II/III candidate highly preferred
  • 4–8 years in portfolio management or asset management roles with demonstrable GCC market experience.
  • Proven track record running or co-managing discretionary mandates or model portfolios.
  • Strong knowledge of GCC market microstructure, settlement cycles, corporate actions, and index methodologies.
  • Strong Analytical Skills


Technical Skills

  • Financial modeling and valuation
  • Portfolio analytics: tracking error, VaR, beta, factor analysis,
  • Tools: Bloomberg, Excel/PowerPoint; Python or VBA a plus.


Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and client relationship skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Clear investment writing and persuasive presentation skills.
  • High ownership mindset, sound judgment under time pressure, strong stakeholder management.
