Flexihire Talent is partnering with a fast-growing B2B SaaS company in the healthcare/fintech space (HQ: Chicago) to hire a Senior Backend Developer. You’ll play a critical role in scaling a large Laravel-based backend into a modern, modular, and reliable architecture that powers mission-critical workflows.

We’re looking for an experienced PHP/Laravel engineer (5+ years) with a strong testing mindset, containerization expertise, and a passion for building scalable, high-performance systems.


Timezone - EST (4 hours overlap)


🔹 What You’ll Work On

  • Refactor & scale a large Laravel monolith toward microservices
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on performance tuning, data, and integrations
  • Optimize and improve database throughput and reliability (MySQL clusters, Redis, queues)
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code (PHPUnit) and review peers’ work
  • Profile, monitor, and improve critical system paths and observability
  • Integrate third-party services to extend enterprise functionality
  • Leverage AI-powered coding & testing tools (we provide them) to accelerate delivery and improve quality


🔹 Tech Stack

  • Backend: Laravel, GoLang, PHPUnit
  • Frontend: Angular
  • Databases & Queues: MySQL (clustered), Redis, RabbitMQ/Kafka (nice to have)
  • Infra & Tools: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git

You’ll be joining a global product & engineering team of 19 (CTO, Engineers, PM, QA) working on “Workflows,” their automation platform at a pivotal growth stage.

🔹 What You’ll Get

  • 💰 Salary: $70K–80K USD (full-time)
