About the Role

Tek Cloudsoul is seeking a motivated and skilled Desktop Support Technician (Band 2) to join our IT Support team in Basel. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day local and remote desktop support, troubleshooting, and customer assistance for hardware, software, and application issues.

This role involves working with end-users, documenting resolutions in ticketing systems, and ensuring smooth IT operations in collaboration with supervisors, peers, and third-party vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first and second-level support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to Windows OS (XP, 7, 8.1, 10, 11), Microsoft Office, and authorized applications.
  • Support Apple Mac OS users and mobile device platforms (iOS, Android).
  • Maintain ticket updates and ensure timely communication with customers.
  • Perform hardware installations, upgrades, and preventive maintenance.
  • Use diagnostic tools for network connectivity and workstation troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to resolve AV and complex technical issues.
  • Work flexibly in a project-based environment, supporting on-call and weekend requirements when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications preferred: CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or higher.
  • Minimum 18 months to 2–3 years of IT desktop support experience.
  • Hands-on knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Active Directory, GPOs, and Office 365.
  • PC hardware troubleshooting and enterprise antivirus solutions.
  • Helpdesk ticketing systems and enterprise encryption solutions.
  • Mobile device management (iOS & Android).
  • Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-changing environment.
