Location: Rowville, Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne (5 days per week onsite)

The Opportunity
As the business continues to expand across the Asia Pacific market, we are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join the Network team. This role offers the opportunity to work with one of Australia’s most recognised brands, supporting a large-scale network spanning over 600 sites.
Reporting to the Network & Telephony Manager, the Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, securing, and supporting the organisation’s network platforms. From planning and architecture through to monitoring, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring seamless connectivity and reliability across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement LAN, WAN, WLAN and SD-WAN solutions that optimise performance, availability, and security.
- Configure and support enterprise network equipment including routers, firewalls, switches, load balancers, and wireless access points.
- Champion network security, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and threat mitigation.
- Monitor and analyse network performance, recommending proactive improvements.
- Support IT teams and business users in a professional and timely manner.
- Contribute to technical architecture, solution evaluation, and disaster recovery planning.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, peer-reviewing designs and processes.
- Adhere to change management and ITIL-based ITSM practices.
The successful candidate will bring:
- 7+ years’ experience in a senior networking role.
- CCNP-level (or above) certifications across routing, switching, and security.
- Proven expertise across WAN/LAN/WLAN/VxLAN, SD-WAN, and network monitoring tools.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, and Fortinet technologies.
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VRF), QoS, and spanning tree.
- Practical experience in network security appliances (ASA, FortiGate, FortiNAC, RADIUS/TACACS).
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, SaaS, and UCaaS cloud technologies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
