What you will do

  • Development & application of innovative algorithms in the field of machine learning, specifically with focus on decision support in medicine and healthcare in the wider sense
  • Active support of ongoing research projects in generative AI for real-world data applications in medicine
  • Presentation of results via scientific publications, workshops and conferences as well as to external collaboration partners
  • Active support of team leader in terms of acquisition of new projects and technology transfer into pharma and biotech industry
  • Active collaboration with the support of other team members, for example regarding publications and code development

What you bring to the table

  • PhD (preferred) and M.Sc. with excellent grades in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biomathematics or a similar subject
  • High level of intrinsic motivation and enthusiasm for translational research connecting academia and industry
  • Clear understanding of statistical and mathematical concepts underlying Data Science
  • Strong passion for Data Science with documented experiences plus an equally strong and documented interest in biomedicine
  • Experience with generative AI, specifically transformer architectures, is a strong plus
  • Documented experience with relevant biomedical data types, e.g. longitudinal clinical data studies, clinical real-world data such as electronic health records, or data from digital health applications
  • Strong programming skills in python and demonstratable experience with Tensor Flow and / or PyTorch
  • Ability to work independently
  • Very good English speaking and writing skills
  • Good German language skills are a plus
  • Very good communication skills

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
