Backend Engineer

Proxy Live Solutions is on a journey of building new games and a gaming platform that allows high load and supports thousands of players concurrently playing our games and using our products.

At the same time, offering a great player experience via a custom-built platform, being resilient, reactive, and component-driven, utilizing modern front-end architecture and state management, with the main focus on mobile devices.

Duties:

• to develop software systems, providing research, analysis and estimations for software requirements;
• to develop and modification of existing software to match functional requirements, quality and resource constraints, configuring the development environment and writing code according to project design and coding guidelines;
• to improve software quality, improve software testing procedures, proactively perform software maintenance activities;
• to collaborate with system designers, analysts and other experts.

You should apply if:

• you have good knowledge of English is required for the job (at least B2 level in accordance with the Council of Europe's ‘Common European Framework of Reference for Languages);
• you have good knowledge of Latvian and Russian languages is preferable;
• higher education or professional experience relevant to the job;
• experience with Scala programming language (or strong will to learn it);
• you are passionate to learn a lot of new things - technology and on the iGaming side: deep dive into industry internals and world of high-load, reactive systems;
• you have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, creativeness, honesty;
• strong communication skills;
• willingness to learn and grow with the company;
• preferable experience with: Akka Actors, Akka persistence, Akka HTTP, Akka Cluster, Cats or optionally Scalaz & Monix, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Cassandra, PostreSQL;
• experience in Event Sourcing, CQRS or experience in other JVM based programming languages (e.g. Java, Kotlin, Clojure) is a plus;
• experience or interest in Cats Effects, ZIO, Tagless Final is a plus.
