About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join our Systems Infrastructure and Cloud team in Ljubljana. In this role, you will be a key driver in managing, optimizing, and evolving our Oracle database ecosystem. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Oracle architecture, high-availability solutions, performance optimization, and security within enterprise-grade environments.


Key Responsibilities:

· Manage, monitor, and optimize Oracle databases for performance, availability, and security.

· Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle software and related tools.

· Design, implement, and maintain Data Guard, RAC, and other high-availability solutions.

· Tune queries, monitor system resources, and proactively improve database performance.

· Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

· Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on architecture and implementation.

· Define and enforce database standards, best practices, and procedures.

· Automate database provisioning, patching, and routine administration tasks.

· Configure and manage Oracle Enterprise Manager for full infrastructure oversight.

· Lead major initiatives, including migrations, consolidations, and upgrades.

· Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and optimization strategies.

· Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineering teams.


Requirements:

· 7+ years of Oracle DBA experience with strong focus on infrastructure.

· Expert knowledge of Oracle architecture, RAC, and Data Guard.

· Extensive experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager, monitoring, and automation.

· Proven expertise in performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high-availability design.

· Strong shell scripting, SQL, and automation skills.

· Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems and storage integration.

· Experience with virtualization platforms and cloud environments (OCI, AWS, Azure).

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.

· Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.


Preferred:

· Advanced Oracle certifications.

· Experience with DB2 database administration.

· Strong automation and scripting capabilities.

· Experience with Cloud environments (OCI, Azure, AWS, GCP)
