Join Ericsson’s PEU Silicon as a Senior Data Engineer and contribute to shaping the future of AI-enhanced silicon innovation.
This role focuses on designing and implementing robust data pipelines, architectures, and platforms that support predictive modeling, generative AI, and intelligent analytics across silicon development. The position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data accessibility, quality, and performance, enabling transformative insights and accelerating innovation.
As a Senior Data Engineer within Ericsson’s PEU Silicon Operations team, you will lead the development of scalable data solutions that power advanced analytics and AI applications in silicon design and manufacturing.
You will architect and maintain high-performance data platforms, integrate diverse data sources, and collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers and technical experts across ASIC, FPGA, and RFIC development to deploy end-to-end data solutions. Your contributions will be instrumental in enabling predictive and generative AI models, improving product quality, and driving operational efficiency.
What you’ll do:
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support generative AI applications and data-driven decisions.
- Collaborate with analysts, ML/AI engineers, and stakeholders to deliver actionable data solutions.
- Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing workflows to enable efficient large-scale model training and inference.
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Monitor pipeline performance, ensuring high data quality, reliability, and observability.
- Document architecture, workflows, and standards to support long-term scalability and maintainability.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI, or related fields (preferably with distinction).
- 5+ years of experience in Python, SQL, and data pipeline tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt).
- Strong knowledge of data architecture principles, including lakehouse design, ETL/ELT processes, and both batch/streaming data processing.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and on-prem solutions.
- Familiarity with generative AI tools (LLMs, FAISS, LangChain, etc.) and AI/ML integration.
- Solid understanding of data governance, metadata management, and compliance (e.g., GDPR).
- Proficiency in Git, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Curious, adaptable, and passionate about emerging trends in AI and data engineering.
- Experience or familiarity with silicon development, telecommunications, semiconductors, or related industries.
- Practical experience with cloud analytics platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP); particularly hands-on proficiency with AWS AI/ML services such as Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, Lambda, and related tools for developing, fine-tuning, deploying, and orchestrating AI and ML models at scale.
- Basic familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra).
- Experience working successfully in cross-functional, global teams within matrixed organizations.
