Software Engineer

An industry innovator operating at the intersection of large-scale data, finance, and engineering is seeking a Software Engineer - Core Infrastructure to join its central engineering team. This group designs and maintains the platforms that power advanced research, low-latency systems, and mission-critical business operations worldwide.

This role offers the chance to work on diverse, high-impact projects that directly support engineers, researchers, and business teams. You’ll design and implement robust services, automation frameworks, and developer tools that improve efficiency, reliability, and security across the organization.

What you'll do:

• Design, build, and maintain custom infrastructure software supporting critical business functions.
• Develop internal scheduling, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure operational continuity.
• Automate network configuration and management workflows.
• Enhance security platforms, proxies, and custom Linux environments.
• Contribute to Linux build systems and host management infrastructure.
• Improve internal asset tracking and cost management databases.
• Create self-service tools to manage diverse technologies such as filesystems, packet capture, and onboarding services.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support production systems.

Your profile:

• Strong programming skills in one or more languages (Python, Go, Java, or C++ welcome).
• Proficiency in Bash and C for low-level development and scripting.
• Familiarity with Linux system internals and host-level networking.
• Hands-on experience with development workflows including Git, CI/CD, and IDEs.
• Proven track record of building automation or self-service tools widely adopted across teams.
• Comfort diagnosing and debugging complex operating system issues.

Bonus points if you have;

• Exposure to web technologies (TypeScript, React, HTML).
• Experience with containerization and virtualization (Docker, Podman, KVM).
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or scripting).
• Understanding of advanced networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, multicast).
• Background in large-scale or low-latency systems.
