Job Description:

For a project at our client: we are looking for a technical PHP profile that can support us in solving application problems on a recently migrated Joomla/drupal platform. The software has been fully updated by the customer, but the application itself is now in an unstable state. The developer who wrote and maintained the custom software is gone and there is only a limited amount of time to fall back on.

So, we are looking for someone with a lot of experience, who can make zen plans. There is support from the infrastructure side and from someone from Cronos who has experience with such processes.

But he has no knowledge of PHP specifically. The intention is first to get the application stable again and then also to make the exercise whether one can build on this or whether it will have to be completely renewed.

What is the assignment?

Step 1

Mapping out the problems, from a technical point of view.

Participate in a step-by-step plan to straighten out the environment.

Short term:

Solving existing issues that arose after the migration.

Documenting the key functionalities, with particular attention to where data is stored.

Long term:

Analyze how the platform can be structurally improved.

Desired experience and knowledge:

• Experience with troubleshooting and stabilization of legacy applications after migration.
• Knowledge of Joomla, Fabrik, PHP, SQL, MariaDB, and integrations with Moodle (including Joomdle).
• Experience with platforms that rely heavily on custom code and direct database links.
• Experience with situations like this on similar platforms is also valuable, as long as there is sufficient knowledge of the tech stack used.
