Principal C++ Engineer

A leading high-frequency trading company, is looking for a Principal C++ Engineer to join their high-performing Trading Systems team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll set technical direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with traders, researchers, and infrastructure teams to design end-to-end high-performance systems.

What you’ll do:

• Design and develop high-performance, low-latency trading systems in modern C++ (C++17/20/23).
• Drive system architecture decisions and ensure implementation across the team.
• Optimize performance across the stack: memory models, CPU cache usage, networking, FPGA offloading.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn trading strategies into technology.
• Lead and mentor engineers, supporting career growth and guiding problem-solving.

What they’re looking for:

• 6+ years of professional modern C++ development experience.
• 2+ years of technical leadership & people management.
• Strong knowledge of systems-level programming & OS internals.
• Experience building high-throughput, fault-tolerant systems.
• Excellent command of Russian and English languages

Bonus points if you have:

• Debugging & performance analysis expertise.
• Experience with quantitative development or ML infrastructure.
• Familiarity with low-latency system design and x86/x64 internals.
• Background in competitive programming (ICPC, IOI, Hashcode) or CTFs.
