🎯 Role Summary

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Ilumae will lead the architecture, design, development, and scaling of our AI-powered platform. This role combines edge AI engineering, secure cloud-native architecture, and applied behavioural intelligence. The CTO ensures the platform operates fully privacy-by-design: personal data stays on-device while learnings contribute to a federated AI knowledge layer.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

* Define and deliver the technology strategy and roadmap for Ilumae, balancing short-term MVP delivery with long-term scalability.

* Architect a secure edge-AI ecosystem where local processing (on iOS/Android devices) connects with federated learning in the cloud.

* Lead the development team (internal and external partners) across mobile apps, AI models, cloud infrastructure, and integrations.

* Ensure compliance and trust frameworks (GDPR, AI Act, ISO/IEC standards).

* Translate user experience and coaching science into scalable product features.

* Drive innovation in behavioural intelligence, personalization, and adaptive learning systems.

* Build strong relationships with investors, advisors, and early enterprise partners.

🚀 Required Experience

* 8+ years in software engineering and product leadership, preferably in AI/ML and mobile ecosystems.

* Track record as a CTO, VP Engineering, or Head of AI/ML in a high-growth startup or scale-up.

* Expertise in edge AI, federated learning, privacy-preserving machine learning, and secure mobile development.

* Proven ability to deliver consumer-grade applications at scale with delightful UX.

* Strong grasp of cloud-native architectures (Azure/AWS/GCP), APIs, and data governance.

* Experience in digital health, coaching, or human performance platforms is a strong plus.
