As part of this transformation, we have established a dedicated data function to drive strategic and effective data-driven decision making across the organization. To lead this effort locally, we are looking for a motivated Data Management and Governance Facilitator (DMGF) to join our team. In this role, you will not only play a crucial part in shaping our data strategy and ensuring the integrity, security, and effective utilization of our data assets, but also act as a driver of technological empowerment—keeping the organization up-to-date on emerging technologies (like AI). As the role is still relatively new, you will have the unique opportunity of shaping it and growing in it.

What awaits you?

As the DMGF, you will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining effective data management and governance processes across the organization (in close collaboration with IT and Business dep.). Your key responsibilities will include:

• Data Strategy & Governance: Lead the local data strategy, align with business objectives, and implement a governance framework to ensure data quality, security, and compliance, acting as a liaison between IT and the business.
• Data Enablement & Management: Enable analytics, BI, AI, and data management; collaborate with IT to review, quality-check, govern, and prioritize data requests; oversee governance of business-managed IT applications in the C1-NE region; promote compliant data usage in BMW’s Cloud Data Hub and establish data stewardship.
• AI & Emerging Technologies: Stay current with new technologies (e.g., AI) to empower the organization.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary interface between Business, IT, regional offices, and HQ; translate data needs from cross-functional stakeholders into actionable initiatives.
• Data Knowledge & Communication: Create training materials and communications to boost data literacy and accurate data interpretation.
• Continuous Improvement: Maintain documentation of processes within the role’s scope.

What should you bring along?

• University Degree, with a major in Business, Information Technology, Data science or related field.
• Experience from Data analytics/Business intelligence, Data management, Data governance, or a similar role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders (presentation to various stakeholders required).
• Good project management skills with ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives.
• Good understanding of data and systems engineering concepts.
• Ideally Experience from Data Analytics/BI tools like Amazon QuickSight, Power BI, Tableau
• Experience working across various markets, in an international environment
