Job Title: IT Security Specialist – Classified Communication and Information Systems (CCIS)

Location: Brussels, Belgium

On-site: 5 days per week (negotiable to hybrid)

Employment type: Contract B2B

End date: end of June 2025 with potential extension

Mandatory: EU Security Clearance

Experience: 3+ years


Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced IT Security Specialist to oversee the security and compliance of Classified Communication and Information Systems (CCIS). The role involves evaluating and approving Requests for Changes (RFCs), conducting security inspections, managing security incidents, and contributing to the accreditation lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, propose changes, and approve RFCs for CCIS.
  • Conduct IT security inspections to ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Actively participate in change management and serve on the Change Control Board.
  • Support Security Operations Center (SOC) activities by validating entitlement management.
  • Collaborate with system administrators on security-sensitive tasks following the 'four-eyes' principle.
  • Participate in security investigations during incidents and provide impact assessments.
  • Monitor and enforce Security Operating Procedures (SecOPs).
  • Draft, revise, and review SecOPs and other security documentation.
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and support decision-making for Security Accreditation Authority (SAA).
  • Perform security testing and oversee security evaluations.
  • Collaborate with external organizations during third-party accreditation exercises.
  • Stay updated on cybersecurity trends and incidents.


Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in IT security, with expertise in IT systems and networks.
  • Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with risk analysis frameworks and tools (e.g., EAR, PILAR).
  • Understanding of information security standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 27002:2022, ENS 2022).
  • Experience with regulatory bodies and security accreditation processes is an asset.
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication and drafting abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with precision.
  • Capability to manage tasks in a complex, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
  • Additional: Familiarity with EU institutions and policies, especially related to Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), is advantageous.
