Product Manager (Western Canada)

Our Client is seeking a results-driven Product Manager to lead their Panels business (sheet goods, specialty panels, and wood-based products) across Western Canada. This role is strategic and highly visible, with direct impact on growth, vendor partnerships, and long-term market positioning.


The Opportunity

This is more than a sales role — it’s about owning a territory and shaping its future. You’ll be responsible for driving revenue, building client and vendor relationships, and ensuring our client’s panels portfolio remains competitive and innovative. The position reports to the Western Region General Manager and requires close collaboration with sales, distribution, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep technical knowledge of products, vendors, and applications to become a trusted resource for customers
  • Drive new client acquisition by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities across Western Canada
  • Strengthen and expand relationships with existing accounts, ensuring long-term loyalty and sustainable growth
  • Identify, evaluate, and integrate new vendors and product lines to expand the portfolio and maintain a competitive edge
  • Build and execute territory growth strategies, aligning sales initiatives with overall business objectives
  • Collaborate with internal teams in sales, distribution, and operations to deliver seamless service and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to shape strategy and pricing decisions
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry associations, and client events, reinforcing market presence and brand reputation
  • Provide consistent reporting on sales performance, pipeline development, and market opportunities to senior leadership
  • Demonstrate strong autonomy, initiative, and accountability to achieve measurable results with minimal supervision

First 3–6 Months

• Gain a full understanding of the structure, products, vendors, and inventory.

• Quickly build strong technical knowledge of product lines.

• Identify new vendors and ensure competitive product selection.


What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a professional who combines technical acumen with commercial drive.

  • Industry Experience: Panels, wood products, or related distribution environment
  • Sales Background: Proven track record in territory development and business growth
  • Skills: Ability to understand product applications, strong communication and relationship-building, comfortable with Salesforce and Microsoft Office
  • Mindset: Independent, proactive, results-oriented, able to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site role
  • Education: High school diploma minimum; post-secondary in business, sales, or procurement an asset


Compensation & Requirements

  • Competitive Base Salary
  • Bonus: 25% annual performance incentive
  • Car Allowance: CAD $1,000/month
  • Travel: Frequent within Western Canada, quarterly out-of-province
