Role Overview
The IT Infrastructure & Office Technology Project Manager is responsible for planning, designing, and delivering all IT and communication systems for new office builds, renovations and relocations.
This role bridges IT, construction and interior design, ensuring that all technology infrastructure including structured cabling, network, data/IDF rooms, CCTV, access control, and AV systems is strategically planned from concept stage, fully integrated into construction designs and delivered seamlessly to support business operations from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Design
- Work with architects, interior designers, engineers, and facility planners from the initial concept stage to define IT and technology infrastructure requirements for new offices and renovations.
- Develop technology layouts and infrastructure plans, including structured cabling designs, network points, Wi-Fi coverage, CCTV placements, access control systems and AV room configurations.
- Design data/communication rooms (MDF/IDF/server rooms), including rack layouts, power, cooling, security and cabling pathways.
- Participate in space planning sessions to ensure IT and communications needs are embedded into the office’s physical design.
- Define technical specifications and standards for all IT infrastructure components in line with organizational guidelines and industry best practices.
Project Management & Delivery
- Develop and manage end-to-end project plans for IT infrastructure within office construction and fit-out projects.
- Align IT project milestones with construction schedules, ensuring timely readiness for move-in and operations.
- Coordinate with general contractors, MEP teams, low-voltage vendors, and IT suppliers to ensure proper installation of cabling, networking, security and AV systems.
- Manage vendor selection, procurement, and oversee installation to ensure quality and compliance with design standards.
- Supervise testing, commissioning, and handover of IT systems prior to office opening.
- Ensure integration between IT systems and facility management or smart building systems where applicable.
Coordination & Governance
- Act as the single point of contact for all IT infrastructure matters during office planning, construction and move-in phases.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and contracts related to IT infrastructure components.
- Maintain thorough as-built documentation, network diagrams and asset records for operational handover.
- Ensure all IT infrastructure meets corporate security standards, building regulations and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with facility operations and IT teams to ensure smooth transition from project to operational support.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience managing IT infrastructure projects within office build-outs, renovations, or relocations.
- Strong knowledge of networking, structured cabling, server/communication rooms, CCTV, access control and AV systems.
- Familiarity with building/facility systems integration and construction processes.
- Experience working with architectural and MEP drawings to plan technology infrastructure.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across IT, facilities, construction and vendors.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2) preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Nice to Have
- Experience in corporate real estate projects, office fit-outs or large-scale technology deployments.
- Familiarity with smart building systems and modern workplace technologies.
- Relevant certifications in networking or physical security (e.g., BICSI, Cisco or similar).
