Machine Learning Intern (Fall 2025)

What You’ll Do
As a Machine Learning Intern, you’ll work alongside our technical team to help advance our computer vision and autonomy capabilities. You’ll contribute directly to building our in-house camera dataset and training models that power real-time perception in the field.
Initial Projects Include
- Expand and refine the AION camera dataset: increase coverage, improve labeling quality, and ensure robust class representation
- Analyze and improve data density and annotation quality
- Evaluate baseline model performance and create a model playground for benchmarking and comparison
- Apply and assess AutoML frameworks for rapid iteration
- Fine-tune and compare state-of-the-art models on our datasets
- Share your findings and help build in-house ML/AI expertise
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, documentation, and tooling that strengthens our ML foundation
- Currently pursuing a Master’s in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
- Strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision
- Experience with Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and dataset tools like Labelbox or CVAT
- Familiarity with image classification, object detection, and evaluation techniques
- Solid communication skills — we value learning and teaching equally
- Bonus: interest in robotics, autonomous systems, or embedded AI
- Work on real-world robotics problems with immediate impact
