Description of Role:
Shape superior user experiences across our world class patient monitoring platforms and applications, aligning with user needs and business requirements to win customers' hearts and minds.
You will be working in the healthcare domain, in our Hospital Patient Monitoring business. We are world market leader in the domain of patient monitoring, surveillance, and analytics.
Your Role
- Impact: The solutions you will be working on, will help caregiver teams around the world safely monitor and manage +700M patients a year!
- Collaboration: Work closely in cross-functional teams, including other designers, usability experts, marketing, domain experts, and engineers. Engage with clinical experts and customers around the world.
- Development opportunities: You will become part of the Philips Experience Design community and work in a multi-disciplinary patient monitoring design team with 50 other highly talented designers. Providing the ability to hone your skills in user centric design, system thinking, and UX design.

- Lead a human-centered design process to understand user and contextual needs and translate these into UX and application requirements. Ensure user feedback and dissatisfiers that strongly influence the user experiences are effectively solved and implemented.
- Initiate and lead collaborations across functions and development sites to ensure solutions consider all functional, clinical and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the UI/UX design direction for medical SW platforms and applications resulting in superior user experiences in line with our Design Language System.
- Lead UX design activities, manage and communicate progress and decisions effectively across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Manage deliverables from inception to completion such as: UX requirements, work and interaction flows, UX concepts and prototypes, Design specifications
- Be an ambassador in user experience design and strive for the highest usability standards and uphold patient safety and quality standards.
- Drive UI/UX innovations and contribute to the growth of UX design knowledge within our design team and bigger organization.
- Proven background in UI/UX design demonstrated by top-quality and innovative SW solutions in the market.
- UX Design for remote service and maintenance applications.
- Preferably in the medical device industry.
- Understanding of healthcare systems and clinical workflows and experience in a regulated environment.
- Ability to handle complex sets of cross-functional inputs and apply a (design) systems thinking approach. Translate effectively to UX design requirements and information architectures. Able to question assumptions, gather and analyze information to come to better and innovative solutions.
- Experience with user, usability, and field research methods like: user journeys and workflow analysis to define user insights and requirement and improve the overall user experience.
- Expertise in and knowledge of latest technology advancements and design tools, interaction design patterns, and visual design trends. Expert in interaction, concept and visual design.
- Experience of working in Design Systems. Expert in UI/UX design tools (e.g. Figma) and UX prototyping. Able to deal with ambiguity, comfortable to propose new directions and concepts without always having all information.
