YOUR CHALLENGE
- Design, implement, and maintain production-grade Kubernetes platforms across hybrid environments (on-prem and public cloud)
- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of Kubernetes clusters and associated services
- Collaborate closely with development teams to guide and support their adoption of cloud-native technologies and CI/CD integration
- Drive automation of operational workflows including provisioning, patching, monitoring, logging, and incident response
- Contribute to architectural decisions, disaster recovery planning, capacity management, and cost optimisation
- Stay current with emerging trends in cloud-native technology and bring innovative yet practical solutions to real-world challenges
- Proven hands-on experience as a Kubernetes engineer or platform operator in enterprise-scale environments
- Strong technical proficiency with Kubernetes, including deep understanding of control plane components, networking (CNI), storage (CSI), service mesh concepts, and operators
- Demonstrable experience administering Kubernetes using either open-source distributions or managed offerings such as AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) or VMware Tanzu – experience with either is a strong plus
- Solid scripting and automation skills using languages such as Bash, Python, and Go, along with proficiency in configuration formats like YAML/JSON; familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Ansible, Helm, Crossplane)
- Operational experience with Linux systems, container runtimes (containerd, CRI-O), and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
- Experience with Kubernetes Operators / Crossplane Providers development in Golang is an advantage
- Security-first mindset — prior work implementing CIS benchmarks, runtime protection, image scanning, or achieving compliance is desirable
- Holders of Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification are strongly preferred; Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) is considered a significant advantage
- Fluency in both, German and English (verbal/written)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor engineers across multiple teams in a matrixed organisation
- Growth mindset — eager to learn, share knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement in a dynamic environment
- Ability to operate independently with a structured, results-driven approach while thriving in a team-oriented setting
