At Julius Baer, we celebrate and value the individual qualities you bring, enabling you to be impactful, to be entrepreneurial, to be empowered, and to create value beyond wealth. Let’s shape the future of wealth management together.

YOUR CHALLENGE

  • Design, implement, and maintain production-grade Kubernetes platforms across hybrid environments (on-prem and public cloud)
  • Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of Kubernetes clusters and associated services
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to guide and support their adoption of cloud-native technologies and CI/CD integration
  • Drive automation of operational workflows including provisioning, patching, monitoring, logging, and incident response
  • Contribute to architectural decisions, disaster recovery planning, capacity management, and cost optimisation
  • Stay current with emerging trends in cloud-native technology and bring innovative yet practical solutions to real-world challenges

YOUR PROFILE

  • Proven hands-on experience as a Kubernetes engineer or platform operator in enterprise-scale environments
  • Strong technical proficiency with Kubernetes, including deep understanding of control plane components, networking (CNI), storage (CSI), service mesh concepts, and operators
  • Demonstrable experience administering Kubernetes using either open-source distributions or managed offerings such as AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) or VMware Tanzu – experience with either is a strong plus
  • Solid scripting and automation skills using languages such as Bash, Python, and Go, along with proficiency in configuration formats like YAML/JSON; familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Ansible, Helm, Crossplane)
  • Operational experience with Linux systems, container runtimes (containerd, CRI-O), and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
  • Experience with Kubernetes Operators / Crossplane Providers development in Golang is an advantage
  • Security-first mindset — prior work implementing CIS benchmarks, runtime protection, image scanning, or achieving compliance is desirable
  • Holders of Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification are strongly preferred; Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) is considered a significant advantage
  • Fluency in both, German and English (verbal/written)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor engineers across multiple teams in a matrixed organisation
  • Growth mindset — eager to learn, share knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to operate independently with a structured, results-driven approach while thriving in a team-oriented setting
