Role Summary
CBRE is seeking a dynamic and experienced advisor to lead its ESG & Sustainability Solutions practice in Finland.
This role at Associate Director / Director level focuses on driving ESG strategy, innovation, and execution across client portfolios in Finland. As part of CBRE’s global ESG network, you’ll lead a multidisciplinary team, advise top-tier clients, and integrate ESG across the real estate lifecycle to enhance asset value and resilience.
You’ll work within a regional matrix organization, collaborating across borders and service lines to deliver measurable sustainability outcomes. The role combines strategic advisory with commercial impact - building internal capabilities, selling advisory projects, and contributing to one of CBRE’s key focus areas. Success requires an outgoing personality and strong commercial skills to turn sustainability goals into actionable results.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: You will define and lead the ESG & Sustainability strategy for CBRE’s Finnish advisory business, aligned with global and EMEA-level sustainability objectives. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders on ESG risks, opportunities, and compliance as well as represent CBRE in industry bodies, regulatory consultations, and sustainability forums.
Client Advisory & Delivery: You will lead and oversee delivery of ESG advisory services including:
- Net-zero carbon strategies and implementation
- Climate risk and resilience assessments (e.g. TCFD-aligned)
- ESG due diligence for acquisitions, developments, and disposals
- EU Taxonomy, SFDR, and CSRD alignment and reporting
- ESG strategy integration into asset and portfolio management
- Circular economy and biodiversity strategies
Team Leadership & Capability Building: You will lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary ESG team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Building internal ESG capabilities across CBRE’s service lines (Valuation, Capital Markets, Property Management, Leasing, Workplace Strategy, etc.) is essential part of your role.
Innovation & Market Intelligence: You will monitor and interpret ESG regulatory developments, market trends, and technological innovations, develop new service offerings and digital tools (e.g. ESG dashboards, carbon calculators, scenario modelling) and finally collaborate with CBRE’s global ESG teams to share insights, methodologies, and best practices.
Operational Excellence & Compliance: You will ensure consistency and quality in ESG methodologies, frameworks, and reporting, supporting clients in achieving certifications and benchmarks (e.g. BREEAM, LEED, WELL, GRESB, Fitwel) as well as contributing to CBRE’s internal sustainability reporting and corporate ESG goals.
