We're seeking someone to join our Paris risk squad as a senior Python developer in the Equity Risk Systems department to contribute to the ongoing development and support of our Risk pricing and management system.

What You'll Do In The Role

  • You will be a technically proficient and enthusiastic Python developer, with a desire to help engineer new and enhance existing components.
  • You will be responsible for orchestrating complex risk calculations by applying rule sets to product economics and market model data.
  • You will be passionate about software quality and team dynamics, within a culture of continuous improvement.
  • You will promote best practices in terms of TDD, tooling and agile ceremonies that help the team become more productive.
  • You will be an active contributor to architectural design meetings and code reviews.
  • You will support and lead different phases of the product lifecycle including analysis, design, development, and deployment.

What you'll bring to the role

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple functions or guide junior staff and initiatives.
  • Advanced understanding of business line and discipline with some knowledge of competitive environment and other disciplines.
  • Experience in Python development on large multi-threaded systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in structured environments with large teams managing large, enterprise-quality systems with rigorous quality control and demanding requirements for reliability and performance.
  • A high-level understanding of the financial sector, finance products and markets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
