As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining reliable and scalable backend systems that power critical applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, frontend engineers, and other backend developers to deliver high-impact features. Accountabilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust backend systems using PHP and Laravel
- Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and other backend engineers to deliver impactful features
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing
- Identify and drive improvements in system architecture, performance, and internal processes
- Troubleshoot complex technical challenges with a structured, analytical approach
- Make pragmatic trade-offs balancing development speed with long-term maintainability
- Ensure backend solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business requirements
- Proven experience as a backend engineer, with deep expertise in PHP and Laravel
- Strong track record of building scalable web applications and APIs
- Analytical and pragmatic problem-solving approach to technical challenges
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork
- Experience mentoring and guiding teammates to help them grow professionally
- Ability to deliver technically excellent solutions while considering practical business needs
- Familiarity with best practices in backend architecture, testing, and deployment
- Experience in remote-first or distributed team environments
- Knowledge of modern development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud services
- Previous involvement in large-scale, high-traffic web applications
