Job Title: Senior Network Engineer (Extreme Networks & Cato)

Location: Stuttgart, Hybrid 3 days in a week.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with proven expertise in Extreme Networks solutions and Cato Networks (SD-WAN/SASE). The role involves designing, deploying, and managing enterprise network infrastructures, leading network transformations, and ensuring robust, secure, and scalable connectivity across global environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support Cato network devices and Extreme Networks switches, routers, and wireless APs.
• Design, configure, and deploy Extreme Networks solutions in enterprise environments.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting across Layer 2/3, including VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, QoS, and multicast.
• Lead network upgrades, migrations, and integration projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess requirements and deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.
• Implement performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive monitoring.
• Stay up to date with Extreme Networks technologies, firmware, and best practices.
• Develop and maintain detailed network documentation (diagrams, standards, SOPs).
• Mentor junior engineers and provide training to support staff.
• Work with Extreme Networks support/account teams for escalations and strategic planning.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Cato network devices and Extreme Networks switches/APs.
• Deep understanding of Layer 2/3 protocols (VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, QoS, multicast).
• Experience with Extreme Management Center (XMC), Fabric Connect, ExtremeCloud IQ.
• Certifications such as Extreme Certified Specialist (ECS) or Extreme Certified Expert (ECE) are highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise or service provider environments.
• Familiarity with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible).
• Knowledge of network security principles, firewall integration, and NAC solutions.
