About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Data Protection Officer (DPO) to ensure our full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.

The DPO will oversee our data protection strategy, develop and implement changes to internal documentation regarding data protection and data processing, monitor compliance, and act as the main point of contact for supervisory authorities and data subjects. This role is crucial in safeguarding the privacy rights of our clients, employees, and partners in a highly regulated financial environment.

What you will do:

Regulatory Compliance:

• Monitor compliance with the GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, and national data protection laws
• Advise management and employees on data protection obligations
• Maintain records of data processing activities (Article 30 GDPR)

Risk Management:

• Conduct and oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
• Identify and assess data protection risks and recommend mitigation strategies

Governance & Policy:

• Develop and implement internal data protection policies, procedures, and training programs
• Collaborate with IT security and legal teams to ensure data protection is embedded in all systems and processes

Advisory & Reporting:

• Serve as the contact point for data subjects regarding data processing issues and rights
• Liaise with Lithuanian supervisory authorities, including handling complaints, breaches, and investigations
• Report regularly to senior management on compliance status, incidents, and recommendations

Incident Management:

• Assist in managing data breaches, including documentation and notification to authorities and data subjects when required

What we expect from you:

• University degree in Law, Information Security, Data Privacy, or a related field is preferred
• Certification in data protection (e.g. CIPP/E, CISSP, ISO/IEC 27001, CDPO) strongly preferred
• At least 5 years of experience in data protection and privacy, ideally within the financial services sector
• In-depth understanding of the GDPR, national data protection laws, and financial regulations
• Proven experience conducting DPIAs, audits, and advising on complex compliance issues
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• High integrity, objectivity, and a proactive approach to compliance
• Familiarity with data processing technologies and cyber security frameworks
