Whom are we looking for?
As our new Data Scientist, you will play a key role in helping us optimize and improve EMS strategies through data analysis, and you will be integral in designing and implementing data-driven solutions. Your responsibilities will focus on building forecasting and optimization models, working closely with the business to translate their needs into analytical solutions, and driving the implementation of those solutions. You will collaborate with various teams, including the Energy Trading and Technical departments, to ensure that optimization initiatives are aligned with our strategic goals.

As our new Data Scientist, you will play a key role in helping us optimize and improve EMS strategies through data analysis, and you will be integral in designing and implementing data-driven solutions. Your responsibilities will focus on building forecasting and optimization models, working closely with the business to translate their needs into analytical solutions, and driving the implementation of those solutions. You will collaborate with various teams, including the Energy Trading and Technical departments, to ensure that optimization initiatives are aligned with our strategic goals.
To be successful in this role, you are expected to:
- Optimization Modeling: develop and implement data-driven optimization models (value stacking, EPEX spot market) for implementation within our EMS, powered by forecasting and machine learning models
- Operational Asset Intelligence: further development of our AmpiHealth Analytics Platform to increase battery safety and performance, by applying advanced diagnostics such as predictive maintenance, degradation modeling, and real-time anomaly detection.
- Business Analysis: work with the Product Lead and various stakeholders stakeholders to analyze business challenges and design solutions that align with company goals
- Collaborate with the Data team (Engineer, Scientists) to work on robust data pipelines for enabling analytics and reporting needs, and the deployment of machine learning models
- Collaborate with the EMS software team to enhance the reliability and efficiency of our code and infrastructure;
- Ensure code and infrastructure reliability along the entire data pipeline;
- Implement best practices for data pipeline architecture and data processing.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field;
- 2-5 years of experience as a Data Scientist in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and model development.
- Experience in developing optimization models (e.g., linear programming, stochastic optimization).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform for model deployment.
- Experience with time-series forecasting and machine learning
- Experience with predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, or degradation modeling is a plus.
- Experience working with modern data stack tools such as dbt, Apache Airflow, or similar for building and orchestrating scalable data pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a business-oriented mindset.
- Experience with energy markets is a pre.
