About the role:

We’re looking for a Mid-Senior Product Designer to join the iLovePDF design team. In this role, you’ll focus primarily on the maintenance, evolution, and performance of Beat, our young Design System.

What you will do:

• Help define and consolidate the foundations of a growing Design System, contributing to the adoption and the systematization of components, tokens, guidelines, and documentation as it evolves.
• Collaborate on the maintenance, quality, and evolution of Beat DS, by designing user-centered and reusable components and patterns that ensure consistency, high performance, and visual coherence across Web, Desktop, and Mobile products.
• Work closely with the design and development team collaborating with decisions and objectives planning.
• Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation (we work with Zeroheight and Storybook) to enable teams across the organization to adopt and extend the design system effectively.
• Identify accessibility problems and advocate for accessibility in all aspects of Beat DS.
• Rely on data and user insights to help inform and prioritize design decisions.
• Contribute ideas and propose continuous improvements with components but also processes based on user and team needs, research findings, and best practices.

Minimum requirements:

• At least 4 years of experience at a product-driven tech company, with part of that time focused on building and maintaining scalable design systems.
• A strong foundation in visual design—ideally with a background in graphic design or a related discipline.
• A portfolio showing visual design across desktop and mobile. We’d love to see how you’ve worked with or contributed to a Design System—whether designing components or applying patterns consistently.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Figma, including auto-layout, variants, constraints, tokens and design libraries.
• Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams and familiarity with HTML and CSS.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills, with a high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English. The design team works mainly in Spanish, but English is necessary for documentation and stakeholders communication.
• EU citizenship or a valid work permit to work in Spain.

Nice to have:

• Passion for mentoring and educating teams on leveraging design systems to improve workflow efficiency and consistency.
• Knowledge of AI and a wide variety of resources to improve project efficiency.
• Proactive and innovative attitude to seek creative solutions.
• Basic knowledge of Storybook and experience documenting at Zeroheight.
• Prototyping and microinteractions.
• You’re interested in Design Ops.
