HousApp is a proptech startup based in Amsterdam, building a platform to streamline property transactions. We launched last year with a focused first step: HousApp Viewing. This makes it easier to schedule property viewings, one of the most frustrating parts of the process for both buyers and agents, and is used by 500+ customers in the Netherlands.

Backed by an exceptional group of investors, we’re now entering our next phase: scaling rapidly, expanding our product portfolio, and setting our sights on international markets.

About the role

As our first AI Engineer, you’ll take the lead in shaping our AI strategy and building intelligent systems into our platform. You won’t just be writing code, you’ll guide the company’s AI direction, design production-ready workflows, and set the standards for how we deliver safe, scalable, and auditable AI features.

You’ll design and deploy agent workflows, build evaluation pipelines, and ensure outputs are safe and explainable. Working directly with the founding team, your impact will shape both our technology and how customers experience our product.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role where you’ll go from prototype to production, orchestrating integrations, deploying services, and creating the frameworks that allow HousApp to scale AI safely.

Required qualifications:

• Has 3+ years of experience in applied AI/ML with production deployments
• Strong programming skills in Python (TypeScript a plus)
• Hands-on experience with LangChain and workflow orchestration (n8n)
• Familiarity with Supabase (DB, APIs, auth, vector search, storage)
• Experience with feature-flag systems (LaunchDarkly or similar)
• Comfortable building evaluation frameworks, A/B tests, and monitoring systems
• Strong knowledge of embeddings, vector DBs, and RAG workflows
• Solid engineering practices: modular, testable, maintainable code

Preferred qualifications:

• Advanced degree in AI/ML or equivalent applied research experience.
• Experience with RLHF, multimodal AI, or real-time inference.
• Contributions to OSS or published AI research.
• Domain experience in fintech/proptech or regulated industries.
