As an Engagement Manager specializing in Cybersecurity, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security posture of our internal and external clients by effectively managing cybersecurity engagements (e.g. Cybersecurity Threat Modelling, Cybersecurity Architecture reviews, Pentesting, Red Teaming). You will collaborate with various stakeholders to identify cybersecurity needs, manage project deliverables, and develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with potential vulnerabilities.
This role requires strong project management skills, a good understanding of offensive security, and the ability to effectively coordinate cross-functional teams including pentesters, cybersecurity consultants, finance, developers, system owners, and clients. The engagement manager ensures that projects are correctly scoped with an accurate timeline projection and adequate resource allocated.
What to Expect:
- Project Planning & Coordination:
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of penetration testing engagements, including scoping, scheduling, resource allocation, and delivery
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and documentation
- Serve as the primary point of contact between clients, internal teams, and any third-party vendors
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Assist in business development, and sales and marketing initiatives to establish initial contact with potential customers
- Lead scoping discussion with clients to understand testing objectives, constraints, and environments
- Translate technical requirements into actionable project plans and budgetary quotations
- Provide regular updates to clients and internal leadership on testing progress
- Conduct post-engagement reviews and surveys to identify process improvements
- Team Coordination:
- Coordinate cybersecurity testers / consultants, and reporting resources
- Monitor workload and support testers in resolving issues or blockers
- Project Overview:
- Maintain overview of project engagements, including clients, reports, findings and financial aspects of all engagements
How to Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in managing cybersecurity testing pre-sales engagements and project management
- Good understanding of cybersecurity testing and cybersecurity consultancy concepts, lifecycle, tools, and methodologies
- Experience managing multiple concurrent cybersecurity engagements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project)
- Familiarity with cybersecurity consultancy and testing operations
- Experience in client-facing roles in a consulting environment
- PMP, PRINCE2, or other project management certifications
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CRTP) is a plus
