POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide analytical support for Split Flow Calculations to ensure accurate material or product flow distribution, contributing to operational efficiency and compliance. Additionally, offer technical assistance and data-driven insights in support of Quality Incident Investigations, helping to identify root causes, assess impact, and develop corrective and preventive actions to maintain product integrity and regulatory standards.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct Split Flow Calculations as requested by the BDMs, in coordination with the Booster Tool Global Project Manager. More specifically:

Expertise in Drilling Hydraulics & Fluid Mechanics

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of fluid dynamics including flow optimization, ECD (Equivalent Circulating Density) management, flow regimes, and frictional losses.
  • Perform advanced drilling hydraulics calculations, including annular pressure losses, flow rates, jet impact forces, and hole-cleaning efficiencies.

Operational Support & Troubleshooting

  • Hydraulic Modelling & Simulation
  • Operate hydraulic modelling software to simulate downhole conditions and support performance evaluations.
  • Interpret and validate modelling outputs to make actionable recommendations.
  • Previous experience with software tools is an advantage.

Collaboration & Customer Engagement

  • Collaborate with drilling engineers, rig crews, and service providers to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide clear, client-facing technical guidance and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Support root cause investigations related to downhole hydraulics anomalies and, propose preventive actions or improvements.

-Support the DSI FZE QA/QC Manager in all the Quality Incident Investigations / Product Performance Reports.

-Liaise with client representatives in getting drilling reports / log charts and / or field reports.

-Provide technical support to Regional BDMs /BDMs /BDRs / Technical Sales Engineers / Service Technicians / R&D Team.

-Provide technical / operational assistance to clients and service technicians.

-Provide presentations, information, technical training, and recommendations to customers and service partners.

-Establish effective communication and liaison with all DSI’s employees.

-Availability to travel with short notice.

-Availability to visit onshore/offshore operational rigs.

-Other duties as assigned by the QA/QC Manager & Booster Tool Global Project Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent knowledge of Down hole drilling tools and operations.
  • Excellent knowledge of fluid dynamics including flow optimisation, ECD (Equivalent Circulating Density) management, flow regimes, and frictional losses.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic modelling software (for example: SplitFlow, Virtual Hydraulics, Drillsoft HDX, LeidarPlan, etc.)
  • Ability to prepare material, organize and conduct technical seminars / presentation of company’s services.
  • Ability for methodical analysis of technical related problems and offer effective solutions.
  • Excellent attitude towards health, safety and the environment.
  • Fluency in English language, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent Customer Service and follow up skills.
  • Able to work under extreme pressure and with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • University Degree in an Engineering Degree would be preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years Oilfield or related experience, preferably with down hole drilling tools and operations.
